Hi JoAnn,
I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.

Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

In regards to collaboration between school and public librarians...Yes! we do collaborate during the school year. Cherry Creek High School and Glendale Public Library are constantly collaborating regarding high school students and their academic/social needs.
I also want to say that summer reading programs are fabulous and a wonderful collaborative project. Collaboration takes time and energy so collaborate as much as you can.
