Hometown:

What is the name of your school?
In addition to being married over 43 years, mother of 2 lovely daughters, and grandmother of 2 healthy boys and 2 gorgeous girls, I am a retired K12 school librarian, district level administrator, and former director of a small public library district. I enjoy my "retirement" as a grandmother, independent educational consultant, and Subject Matter Expert/course designer for Lifelong Education at Desktop (LE@D) http://bit.ly/tM1YDu. I also serve as Co-President of a non-profit preservation organization, Rollins Pass Restoration Association http://moffatroad.org/. I've been active in and served on the boards of state and national school library associations including AASL, CEMA, CAL, and CASL.

I'm too old to leave what I love, so I intend to keep an active mind and life dedicated to the future of our children.

Hi,
Nice to "meet" you too! Yes I plan to attend CAL although I have yet to register. The beginning of school has been so hectic that I'm only now able to even think about November!!!!

When I'm not working with grassroots nonprofits including library organizations, you'll find me in the kitchen! This was a fun fundraiser for an affordable housing lobby organization a la 'Iron Chef'.

Mansfield University Scholarship Program – Begin in January 2012

In an ongoing effort to recruit a new generation of school library leaders, Mansfield University recently received a fifth Institute of Library and Museum Services (IMLS) grant to fund scholarships for its totally online School Library & Information Technologies Master of Education degree program with school library certification. If you know of an educator or non-certified librarian seeking school library certification, please pass along the news that we are still accepting applications for the spring 2012 semester.

The Master of Education program, ideally suited for working educators
with no time to drive to a university, offers a convenient and effective path to school library certification. For detailed information and contacts please refer to the Fulfilling the Promise homepage, at http://libweb.mansfield.edu/promise/, or contact Cynthia Keller, Department Chair ckeller@mansfield.edu
