welcoming you was just a courtesy call with no intetions of flattering you.it was not in a sence to gain some benift from you.As it is a common community so we may share ideas, knowledge, work etc.but if you are only intrested in the work of Joyce it's upto you.
Be Happy!
Larry, Welcome to TLN. I'm not sure if I should envy you or not. I can't believe that you are still working with HS students and teachers. Good for you. Yes, I will send you any postings I see. There have been many in the state and I'm sure as the school year ends that many will open up. How do you come by your Midwestern roots? Yo

So you're in Pakistan, Naveed? I lived/worked in Japan 32 years and love the Orient.
Larry, Just saw this post from The Shifted Librarian blog and I thought that you might want to check it out. “LISjobs.com, the largest free library career portal on the Internet, is pleased to announce the launch of its new online community for librarians. Devoted entirely to career development and job hunting, these forums provide a space for librarians, LIS students, library workers, and information professionals to discuss professional development issues.” http://lisjobs.com/
Yolan, I think I may have already replied to your helpful comment but anyway spent some time online searching for Wis. library jobs last night & have completed applications for a lo-pd library asst. in La Crosse and a Supervisory Librarian position in the Dept. of Public Instruction in Madison. I'm still having problems with the federal bureaucrats concerning obtaining documentation verifying my fed experience to get a Wis. license, but I'm gonna 'phone the Dept. of Defense Dependents Schools tomorrow morning I think. Thanks for all your help.
Hi Larry, Have you been able to get the documentation needed for a WI license yet? I've seen a posting for a LMS at Lannon Elementary in the Hamilton School District, Sussex. If interested, Apply on-line at www.hamiltondist.k12.wi.us. I have more info, could email you the listserv post. Yolan
Hello Yolan. Believe it or not, I've been at this for a year & still don't have all the documentation required, despite a FOIA demand and the threat of a congressional inquiry. Despite that, just last night I did apply not only for the Sussex job but for an instrumental music job at a middle school there. Sadly, I'd also initiated application @ another site that wouldn't permit one to apply without the license, so I e-mailed the Supt. & explained that I was working on it & be reply got a login/pswd but I messed up & couldn't make it work. But I'm seriusly confident that I will get Wis. license(s) & find something worthwhile by next summer. And if I don't get a school job, my younger brother who's a journeyman electrician says that construction pays $25 an hour so maybe I'll wind up working in sewer construction like I did in college?
Larry, Still looking for job and getting WI credentials? Here's another location with openings..."We have 4 openings for LMS in our elementary schools due to expansion and retirement. They will not be listed on our website until mid-May due to our union contract in Kenosha but please call me if you're interested in talking about them. Hi again Yolen,
Thanks so much for your continued help. I was in Wis. over Easter break & attended a job fair in Wis. Rapids. On Apr. 15, I finally submitted documentation to the DPI for music/soc. sci./hist. & Librarian-Media Specialist. I'm currently enrolled online @ Fresno Pacific U to get 6 sem. credits for those licenses. I anticipate completion by early Aug. Thanks so much for your Kenosha announcement. I'll send Diane Kastelic an e-mail expressing interest today.
On Apr. 15 I also sent application documents for a position in Milton & just this week got an e-mail from Manitowoc indicating they'd rec'd. my application, are reviewing paperwork before making interview decisions. Thanks again for all your help.
Hi Larry, How's it going on the job hunt in WI? I have a list of open positions in WI and have tried to attach it. Let me know if you can't open. Yolan LMS_Job_Postings_2008[1].doc

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight.
If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us http://www.facebook.com/SupportSchoolLibraries . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
