Hi all! Massachusetts School Library Association is gearing up for our fall conference, School Libraries in a 2.0 World, we are looking forward to having Chris come back to join us! :-) I have been following the LM_NET chatter about our jobs becoming obsolete and I guess I just get worn down by the people who appear to be negative but don't ever step up to the plate to write articles, get involved in our prof organizations, etc. to move forward what we do. I guess I'll get over it! ;-)

Hi Joyce,
I have to thank you for validating my decision not to make the bed anymore! I have your 'rules for 2.0 guerilla practice' stuck above my desk and whenever I feel guilty about what I haven't done, they remind me that what I am doing with Web2.0 is far more important!

Joyce, hi. Just a note here to say thanks again for your intensely motivational talk at CIL. It lit so many fires for me it's going to be summer before I even start dealing with them all.

Hi Joyce, just read your inspirational year end report. Thanks for sharing. You've sparked many ideas for me to try next year. I love TeacherLibrarianNing. It's such a rich environment and I have learned so much in such a short time. Since joining I've started my own blog, got into del.icio.us and used it to pass bookmarks on to my staff, put up a web survey asking teachers for their 'best reads' of the year and I'm adapting your idea of an exit interview to survey Gr. 8's in Sept. and then again in June. Thanks!

Springfield library is you - right? If it wasn't you (with your delightful hair) talking about your library in New Zealand - then who was it? How very wierd - what have I gotten mixed up. I am going to have to do some asking about this....to clear up my confusion. :-)

Just saw your name in the title of the Editorial in SLJ! Woohoo! It's unfortunate that the discussion has to exist at all, but since it does, it's nice to see your prominence. :)

I realized after I wrote that last chatter that it's the April issue I was referring to. I just received it yesterday... not sure why I get my issues a month behind... am I the only one?

Thank you Joyce. I've had a Ning account for sometime, but it took seeing this great space to really get my attention. Are you going to be at NECC this year? Carl and I will be there doing several presentations. It would be great to meet face to face.

After 20 years of English teaching, I'm just getting into this whole "library thing." Thanks for creating this great space! I start my first library job this fall, and am using a lot of your stuff for ideas!

Mansfield University Scholarship Program – Begin in January 2012

In an ongoing effort to recruit a new generation of school library leaders, Mansfield University recently received a fifth Institute of Library and Museum Services (IMLS) grant to fund scholarships for its totally online School Library & Information Technologies Master of Education degree program with school library certification. If you know of an educator or non-certified librarian seeking school library certification, please pass along the news that we are still accepting applications for the spring 2012 semester.

The Master of Education program, ideally suited for working educators
with no time to drive to a university, offers a convenient and effective path to school library certification. For detailed information and contacts please refer to the Fulfilling the Promise homepage, at http://libweb.mansfield.edu/promise/, or contact Cynthia Keller, Department Chair ckeller@mansfield.edu
