Would you read a book from your email or an rss feed? I am going to try it out. My initial thought is yes of course I would, but time will tell. I am a little skeptical of myself. Answer Board Librarians, Ask Colorado, etc. - What about school librarians?

I don't remember how I came upon this site: Answer Board Librarians at WetPaint.com, but I signed up much like I do for others sites like this and then "sat on it" for a while. Takes me some time to get the feel for a site and decide to participate even if I am a member.

This site seems to be mostly participated in by public library staff, but why not have a school library contingent? Check it out and let me know what you think.

At 11:13pm on January 2nd, 2008, Liz Philippi said…: Abbeville didn't get much from Katrina, but it did take a BIG hit during hurricane Rita! It hit right up Vermillion bay and devastated the low lying farmlands around Abbeville so they got hit pretty bad. They have recovered better than NO, but it has taken time. My nephew is going back to UNO this winter, he had just started when Katrina hit, he tried to go back the next semester, but the crime was pretty bad and the dorms hadn't really recovered so he took a year and went to UL in Lafayette instead. My sister lives in Lafayette and works as a pastry chef at Poupart's so he was okay, but he is going to try again this Jan. Where did your sister live in Spring Branch? It is a pretty cool place to work mainly because of Dr. Barry Bishop, we just started a new online Professional dev. program based on the Charlotte Mecklenberg library in North Carolina. It is called Library2Play, check it out at the link below and let me know what you think.

I am originally from Abbeville, small town south of Lafayette. I did my undergrad at UNO with a major in Speech/Theatre Ed. and a minor in Lib. Sci. Then when we moved to Houston I ended up in Spring Branch --- great place to work! I got my Masters from UNT, but haven't talked myself into going for that Doctorate yet ---- maybe one day!?! Do you enjoy CO after the flat lowlands of LA??? We lived in Knoxville, TN for a year, and absolutely loved it there! We would like to move back in the next couple of years, we just need to work up to the whole "moving" thing!!! It was great "hooking" up --- let's keep in touch, I love to hear from transplanted Louisianaians!
