4th Congress for Information and Library in Leipzig
The BID – Bibliothek and Information Deutschland (Library and Information Germany) is hosting the 4th Congress for Information and Libraries March 15-18, 2010.
The congress is titled “Knowledge for the People! – Libraries in the 21st Century: International, Intercultural, Interactive.” Everyone is invited to discuss current problems and important issues concerning the future of the library and information sector.
Libraries and information centers are to be considered in the context of worldwide social and economic development as well as in regard to their role as knowledge bases. The perspective of clients who use libraries will also be explored. The demands of many demographics are changing constantly and more rapidly, presenting an ever-present requirement for innovative library and information services in order to remain relevant.
The following topics will be discussed during the congress:
