Hello. My wife (a primary school librarian) and I, have been volunteering setting up a library at a local non-profit school for foster children. We are just about done gathering books and setting up shelving, etc., but we need some kind of software to manage it. My wife uses, and loves, Destiny at her public school, but we can't afford that. We will just have one PC with a bar code scanner (no server), so all we need is something simple. Our requirements are just:
- bar code scanning
- check out books to students
- list books by title and call number
Any recommendations for an open source or or freeware or online solution would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I'm not sure what your budget is, or how much these cost, but Follet's Mandarin is similar to Destiny, though not as user friendly, and Athena, which I believe is a Webmarc product.
I hope this helps!
Thanks for the info! I will check that one out.
Thanks again!
ResourceMate is another one that you might want to look into.
