I am currently unemployed.  I substitute teach in a nearby school district.  I am gaining classroom experience and other various skills.  I'm also pursuing a graduate certificate in Educational Technology to increase my knowledge (15 graduate-level credits that can be transferred to a full Masters degree program if I so choose).  Would it be beneficial to volunteer in a local school media center as well?  This way, I can see more media center lessons and keep abreast of current trends.  What are the odds volunteering will increase my chances of gaining employment?

I welcome any suggestions.

Thank you.

Volunteering will look good and gives you experience. Any classes you can take towards library media will help. Technology is huge so the certificate will look really good towards it as well!
