Cataloging Software

Hello There
I need to re-organize an entire school library, and am looking for a program/software that will help. I am looking for something that already has a numerical system set into place. The previous librarian didn't seem to have anything organized so all the books are out of order. Instead of trying to get them in their correct spots I would like to start from scratch, we have a lot of new inventory that needs to be put into the mix too.

I will need to inventory all books, cds, & dvds as well as be able to track when & who checks them out. The library is fairly small and I’m not looking for anything too difficult or high tech. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, it has to be reasonably priced. Thank in advance :)

Hi Carla,

Last summer we installed a program called Alexandria. We have a small library with about 7000 books and av materials. You can track materials, print various reports, print barcode numbers, do a MARC search, barcode new materials and more. Previously we used follett and wanted to search for a system that was a bit less expensive. I am happy with this product.
