I probably track too much. I track walk-ins to the library, walk-ins to the computer area (I have 42 computers for use), classes that come in (including, teacher name, number of students, periods, class, objectives, technology teacher is using, technology students are using, product, etc), meetings that take place here, and of course the circulation info. I have a large library with 5 separate areas for classes, so I like to keep track of what we are doing and how we are doing it. I don't really know what is too much or too little. I would be interested in hearing not just what people are tracking, but how they are tracking.
I track classes using the both the library and the computer lab. I also track number of students (including those in classes) and students who use the library. I think that gives an adequate monthly snapshot of the library. It helped me last year to show just how much impact the closing of the library one block a day had made. Good luck!
