A community for teacher-librarians and other educators

I recently submitted a proposal to win a $50,000 administrative grant to renovate my high school library.  The deciding committee has read the proposal and has several questions.  One of them is this:

How will the students and their educational experience directly benefit from upgrades to the library environment?

Every answer I can come up with is a direct benefit, but it doesn't seem measurable.  How would you respond to this?  Some of the changes include:

 - laptops for student checkout

 - juice bar for plugging in devices

 - lowering the shelves to open the space and provide supervision

 - the addition of a quiet room for differentiated learning and instruction

Any suggestions would be welcome!
