Information Investigator 3.1 is a 3 hour self paced class combined with a performance assessment of your information fluency skills.
For a limited time we are offering the course for free to interested educators. This is the complete course. You're under no obligation to buy anything.
The objective of Information Investigator is to provide training and diagnostics to middle school and high school students in digital information research skills. The structure of the experience that you are previewing is a package of 10 tutorials that cover the following competencies:
browsing, querying, deep web querying, truncation, freshness dating, fact checking, bias detection, evaluating external authority, search and evaluation strategies and identifying red flags.
Each tutorial has an associated First Aid Kit which explains and illustrates the tools/techniques involved. Many of the First Aid Kits include animated movies.
As you will see, this is more than an online course. It is an assessment of performance skills.
The underlying principle is real-world searching and evaluation. It's virtually impossible to guess right answers. Students have to conduct searches to find answers, and in the process they have to use specific techniques and strategies.
This course is available to educators for a free preview for a limited time. If you'd like to take the course and get your own performance evaluated, ask for your enrollment key today!
