A community for teacher-librarians and other educators

Hello

I have just found this lovely forum!

I'm a school librarian working in a state school in south London. I run Accelerated Reader, teach all year seven students, (and various other students), I run a range of after-school clubs and an educational allotment!

The school  I work in belongs to a network of schools run by a charity. I have lead all the librarian-training days and have also got us featured in the network's magazine.
I love my job and the students I work in, but would like to work in an international school from September[ish] 2013. Ideally I would work in America, but would be happy to work in a few other places too.

Is there anyone out there working in the US from the UK? How did you find the experience? What were the main differences? How did you find the job?

Also does anyone work in or around london and have experience with the international baccalaureate? If so, can I come visit your school!?

Thanks

Ellen,

I'm doing the same thing now and I'm using the following resources to look for a job in the U.S.

The International Educator (Only a few listing in the U.S.but still there are a few)

The headhunting firms: Carney Sandoe or Cal West might be worth considering.

All the best with your search,

I am looking to go in September 2013, as I am still finishing my Masters.
Let me know if you have any luck!!!
