Hi, I have found www.slideshare.net to be most valuable in keeping up to date with Web 2.0 tools for use in schools. My personal favourite is Top 100 Web Tools by Jane Hart, which you can find at http://www.slideshare.net/janehart/top-100-tools-for-learning-2009-...

I send these types of links to our teachers and love it when they come back to say they have found something new to try. I love Diigo for social bookmarking, Prezi instead of PowerePoint and PBWorks, Facebook, Google Docs for group work and stacks more (and there is always something better just around the corner to try.

Thanks for this thread, Donna. I'm looking forward to learning even more.

Thank YOU so much! I've added your ideas to the wiki! I agree with Slideshare as a great way to learn more...! (And there seems to always be more to learn, doesn't there?) Keeps life interesting!

Keep sharing!

Twitter is my absolute friend when it comes to learning about web2 tools. I follow several outstanding educationalists & school library "stars" (including our very own Dr Valenza of course!). Every day people post ideas & new resources. Love at first tweet for me!
Thanks, Catherine. I've added your comments to the page. I love Twitter, too. I kind of think of it as this constant flow of ideas and inspiration that you can dip into and out of any time! Amazing!
fascinating about twitter in professional use....thought it was just for kids....I am going to follow up on this.
Just find a few good people to follow on Twitter and you'll be amazed at the resources that fly by....AMAZING! And don't hesitate to share! That's what Twitter is about. I really didn't get it until I followed NECC (now ISTE) last year...then AASL. I picked up so many good ideas and people to follow!
Here's one list of librarians on Twitter: http://twitter4teachers.pbworks.com/Librarians

and another: http://justtweetit.com/education/librarians/

and http://wefollow.com/twitter/librarian

I have a nice combo of ed tech folks, librarians, professional groups, etc. Sort of added them one by one and now I'm organizing into lists.

A good article with lots of ideas for using it for professional development here:

See you on Twitter!
I have also found many new ideas on Twitter.
Hello,
I found the best thing I have ever done was to create a personal page (iGoogle in this case). I access everything I need here and keep up via Google Reader.

Cheers,
Pat
Love it! I think RSS is a teacher-librarian's best friend, don't you?! I've added your suggestion to the page and linked the page to the sidebar now. Thanks, Pat!
I read many blogs and RSS feeds inorder to keep up on all the new stuff happening with web 2.0 My favorite is Joyce's SLJ blog,
