I am very interested to see how you all are using Web 2.0 tools in a primary environment... What has worked best for you guys working with little ones?

Hi Rachel,

We're using wikis for 1st grade wikipals (think pen pals, but much more immediate). These wikipals also share private ed-voicethreads. 0ur wiki pals are only 40 miles away, so when we get together at the end of the year for a face-to-face visit, I'm expecting the kids will have a much stronger relationship than if they had only exchanged 4 or 5 snail mail letters.

Our K-2s have also done some photostory and animoto work. And of course, they use some drawing and imaging tools, like artpad and webspiration. But the power of connecting with others is where I see really powerful learning opportunities.
Do you have your students upload the pics to Animoto and Photostory, or is that done with assistance? We have been teaching digital photography lessons recently, and would love to hear how you guys have tackled this!
What age are you doing digital photography lessons with?  Could you give me an example of what you have them doing?
I've been using bighugelabs.com with my primary students. Inside this tool I especially use trading cards and magazine covers. I like it because they not only insert a photo and they also have to write - from a short sentence to a paragraph.
