Greetings Karen,

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight. If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us http://www.facebook.com/SupportSchoolLibraries . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Mike McQueen

Hey Karen

I'm compiling a list of the favorite books from famous people here. Would this be of any interest to you and your library patrons?

Hi Karen,
I just had a thought: I had put your CD into a beat-up little recycled padded envelope when I realized we could put the internet to work for us! Email me at kimnorman@mac.com and I can send you the music file to burn to a CD. I was worried a mailed CD would be nothing but plastic mush by the time it got up to you, if it fared as poorly as the floppy envelope I was reusing!

Sure, Karen. I just saw you'd posted the "official" request. I'll put it in the mail tomorrow. Hope you and your students enjoy it!

Hi Karen,
I just wanted to let you know I've uploaded a video of me singing my "Storytime Boogie" to a batch of the cutest head-bobbing kindergartners. I give away the CD, so if you'd like a copy, just let me know.

Oh how nice, Karen! Thanks for letting me know! If you'd like me to send any signed bookplates for the books, feel free to write to me at the email address on my website. Hope you enjoy the books!
