Innovations in Education:
Educators are Invited to Join The Carle in Pistoia, Italy!
The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, in cooperation with Smith College, invites educators to visit and study the early childhood centers of the city of Pistoia, Italy, from April 19–23, 2010 for Innovations in Education. This professional education event, organized by The Carle and the Assessorato all’Educazione del Commune di Pistoia, allows educators a firsthand experience with the Infant-Toddler and Pre-school Services of Pistoia. Through presentations and conversations with the city’s early childhood pedagogical team, participants will learn about their careful attention to environment and their strategies of observation and documentation. Participants will also gain knowledge of the program’s strong commitment to families, culture, and history through their educational model.
