It's the most exciting time to be a teacher librarian. The opportunities for learning have never been more rich. The studies prove the value of the role of strong school libraries in student achievement. Yet, the pink slips are flying. Where do we go from here? Led by Buffy Hamilton and Chris Harris and moderated by Gwyneth Jones and Carolyn Foote, this webinar is a crisis planning session for moving forward with purpose! Please join us!

For those who were unable to attend ----it was wonderful!!! Chris Harris gave a sobering picture education today---transfer that to libraries and we need to get the word (emails, presentations, pictures, reports) out about all that we do to help our students. Buffy is so inspirational in all that she does in her Unquiet Library---showing the strength of good school libraries towards increasing students as 21st century learners and citizens.

Is there archived access to the session on 4/19? I had technical difficulties and missed it.
Comment by Mary Charters on April 18, 2010 at 8:04pm
I am hoping this will be archived as well as I won't be able to attend. Because I was NOT a teacher before getting my MLS, I really am feeling in need of more prof development in the area of education that will help me beyond the 12 ED credits I took for state certification.

I would love to follow proceedings but being in Australia the time difference presents real problems. I will be hoping that the discussons are archived as well. I hope you have a great session.

Thank you for setting this up. As a result of the previous Webinar and your encouragement, our library is now purchasing a LibGuides subscription. However, it's a partial victory since we are "only allowed" to use it for our research pathfinders.
But it's a start and we're very excited at New Trier High School, Winnetka, IL.

I would have love to attend as well. However, I too will be at MASL. Hopefully the discussion can be archived for me to look through.

I wish I could attend, looks like it will be a valuable and timely discussion. I will be attending our state librarians' conference (MASL) on that date and at that time will be at the Reader's Award Banquet.

I'm looking forward to this necessary discussion. Many of us are facing job uncertainties just at the time when our services are clearly needed.

Sounds amazing...can't wait! Unfortunately, I've never been able to connect to Elluminate successfully for a webinar (quite the bummer), but I'm working on figuring it out. My connection fails...it times out. Any tips/tricks would be fab! Thanks a bunch!
