That was the big question that Dianne Baasch had us thinking about during our Library Chat at the Library Cafe during an unconference session at the 2008 Learning 2.0 conference.

When she asked this, it was like a wild fire caught! Everyone started speaking, the voices started rising, and chaos seemed to unleash.

Personally, I can't imagine it. What do you think?

I know what you mean Ann, it was like all this frenetic energy was unleashed when Dianne started talking about a paperless library. I guess it all depends on who your audience is. I myself teach elementary (primary) school and would have a difficult time with no books, even non-fiction. After the meeting I did readjust my thinking about having a balanced non-fiction collection. It needs to be interesting and exciting not balanced.
I could see having a reasearch library that is paperless. Maybe because I know nothing about research libraries!!
