Greetings Claudia,

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight.

If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us http://www.facebook.com/SupportSchoolLibraries . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Mike McQueen

Claudia, I was in class on Friday, but I was late arriving. My Adolescent Lit class finished in north Arvada at 4:00 PM, and Dave was aware on my Leadership and Practice class. I was just sorry I did not have the energy to go to dinner after the class. I needed to return to my Adolescent Lit class the next morning and was already on low power. I am glad you liked our spa gift and hope you have the opportunity to pamper yourself this summer. You have been wonderful to let us use your library during our cohort studies. You have been a wonderful model for all of us.

Claudia, It is great to see cohort friends using the same technology to share information about our library interests and needs. It has definitely been a pleasure to work with you and to get to know you. Thank you for all your support and encouragement. Shirley

Hi Claudia! I'm so happy to be your friend! It was great to meet your husband at Old Chicago's on Friday. Maybe someday a wonderful man will decide I'm as cool as you are. :)
