Greetings Jody,

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight.

If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us http://www.facebook.com/SupportSchoolLibraries . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Mike McQueen

Jody, I would love to have you as one of my "friends" on Ning! I was in your Foundations class a couple of years ago in Col. Spgs.

Hi, Mary,

I used to use the moniker of "happy feet" because I love to dance. I have been so busy for the past year that I haven't had much time to dance. Now I am Wannabedancer....Just a little way to make me remember that I do want to dance. Bonnie Killin and I used to go dancing at the Stampede or Grisley Rose at least once a week. Boy, other things have gotten in the way for a while.

It is good to see your smiling face.

Hi, Jody,

I'm not sure how this works either. My comments seem to be sort of splattered here, there, and everywhere. I flit from person to person and group to group, but in the end, I really do learn things.

I am intrigued by your "wannabedancer" moniker! Must be a story there.

Glad you've joined us. I need to find Su next. Are either of you going to AASL?
