Greetings Sheri,
I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight.
If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us http://www.facebook.com/SupportSchoolLibraries . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

We are working on a survey that will go out to ProjectLead graduates ( a Master's program fro school library at FSU specifically to prepare SLMS for National Board)
It will specifically focus on integrating technology and the leadership role of the SLMS.
Sorry so long to get back to you-just starting my PhD program-I am sure you can relate! I would love to hear about anything you have found so far in the research. Thanks!
You are correct. I am studying the digital library integration behaviors of NBCT. I haven't reached the point of findings yet, but here are my research questions:
Major research question:
How do exemplary SLMSs use technology (i.e. digital libraries) to support the curriculum in K-12 schools?
Foreshadowing questions:
How do exemplary SLMSs:
1. Provide access to digital libraries?
2. Teach effective use of digital libraries and other information resources?
3. Engage learners with digital libraries?
4. Use digital libraries to enhance learning [support the curriculum]?
I am currently working on my PhD at Florida State University. As a part of my fellowship I am working on some grant research for one of my professors involving SLMS and technology integration and the leadership role, specifically related to NBCT as well. I saw where you mentioned that you were researching in this area as well. I was curious as if you would share some of your questions, methodology and findings.
