Is a Masters Degree In Library Science Worth It?

Is the high cost of a 30-credit masters degree in library science worth it?  I took 18 graduate credits to get my k-12 library endorsement for my teaching license.  Will I have more job opportunities with the masters, or will my k-12 library license allow me to get almost all of the same jobs?

I believe it depends on the state. Some states require a masters and others just require a certificate or endorsement. Check with your district or state requirements before making a final decision!

I am currently in a Masters or Ed. in Library and Information Technology, but I am completing the classes for certification first since that's all that is required by my district. I DO plan to continue, however, after being transferred to the library next school year (partially because the pay scale increases dramatically in my district for teachers with a masters and mostly because I just want the masters degree!).

I am researching this in Massachusetts right now and can just echo what Carissa said--it depends on your state!
