Well, it's for us to experiment and find out how to use blogs! When I started my personal one, I was just exploring. Now I use it to keep in touch with family and friends. My children have blogs and post on them more often than on email. We share photos, even video clips. As far as the school ones go, the purpose of the professional one is to have discussions with the rest of you. I subscribe to Doug Johnson's wonderful Blue Skunk blog and feel that, though I've never met him, I have a colleague in Minnesota. I subscribe to others too, trying one or two at a time and changing now and then. I especailly love Roger Sutton's Read Roger blog from the Horn Book magazine.

Beyond cycling through with a peek at each blog and gaining new ideas - approaches and links - this is a great source for building a blogroll or del.ici.ous network. We could create a networking spark: for example swap creative commons photos or other collective topical feeds by targeting and using specific tags. Still thinking...
