I am currently a 3rd grade teacher working on my MS degree and I have a couple of questions for a class assignment.

(1) How do some media specialists manage to build dynamic online school library resources that teachers and students actually use?
(2) How do some media specialists use technology to help them perform their roles more effectively?

I would appreciate any information you can share for this assignment.

Thanks,
Margaret

Hi, Margaret,

I, too, am working on my MS degree, though have been hired on a variance as a half-time elementary MS for the last year. Therefore, I'm just finding my way around, too.

One way I've used tech. to help me be more efficent/effective is by using open source documents such as Google Docs. I do so much of my work away from my work desk, it is great to access my budget and running lists from anywhere. I've also given access to a few of my documents to others so we can collaborate. For example, I recently attended a Responsive Classroom workshop and created a list of related read alouds. All the other students in the class have access to it and can add titles they run across.

I'm anxious to see what others are doing, too!
Linda
