Hello Katharine,
My district has had several trial subscriptions for TeachingBooks.net and I love it. Nick at TeachingBooks.net has been more than generous to us. Unfortunately, the person in charge of money to pay for it, did not subscribe to it for us, even though I asked for it.

Your Prezi is imPREZIve!! (LOL) Really...it's got everything! Humor, great use of the tool, a nice arrangement of the elements, and an powerful message!! I especially love your "word wheels" and the way you use them.

Is there more? I want MORE!

When you're done, I'd love to embed it as an example on the WebTools4U2Use wiki. It's the first good library media presentation I've seen. I know they just started offering an embed code--I guess you have to be the author to get it (unlike YouTube or SlideShare). Let me know if you're willing.

If you'd like, there are some flyers at the site you can use as handouts. The wiki was designed for school library media specialists!

(I've got to love your superintendent, too!! --Not to mention your district leadership!)

WOW! No one has called me Dr. Toler in a Long time. Glad you recognized me...I somehow missed your name change (or forgot it as us old folks tend to do!) I agree with the pixel thing...you can find some better images or maybe not zoom in so much. Let me know when you're ready--maybe after your presentation so no one else sees it! And we can figure out how I can embed it. I saw the one on Anne Robinson's site and she has embedded that one!

Say hi to all my friends in Lee County (it is Lee, right? or Collier?)

Nice to hear from you, young one!

Hi Kathy,

Could I share your prezi with my Web 2.0 workshop group at FAME? If so, would you send the URL?

It's a perfect example!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm trying to pack a lot into the time...too much, I'm sure. So many cool tools. Your prezi is THE BEST!

Thanks for the link to your blog, too. Very clever! Hope your teachers enjoy it.

You remain ONE creative human being, Kathy! I mean FABRARIAN!!

Hard to tell from here! I heard about 40 people had registered...they seemed interested. Screensharing technology was too slow so I sent DVDs of everything....not my best workshop, I think, but my last! Thanks for asking. Let me know what you're up to now and then. I'm proud of you! --djb

Yep, Black Mountain, NC. We've had a summer house here since 1996 and bought this "last house before the home" in 2001. Been here full time for the last couple of years...and LOVE it. Fall and spring are just glorious and winters and summers aren't bad either.

You can see the workshop materials at http://bit.ly/2009FAME...and http://fame09.pbworks.com. I have to re-do the video segment because I really messed up the audio--maybe next week. "Virtual" certainly added to the challenge!

Hi, I looked at your Prezi. Really cool tool. Thanks for sharing. I'm also a middle school librarian. This is my first year and I'm loving it. I saw "Readatouille" in your prezi. What is that? We have a strong foreign language department here and it looks like something I could do with the French teacher. Just trying to steal a great idea! Thanks.

Mansfield University Scholarship Program – Begin in January 2012

In an ongoing effort to recruit a new generation of school library leaders, Mansfield University recently received a fifth Institute of Library and Museum Services (IMLS) grant to fund scholarships for its totally online School Library & Information Technologies Master of Education degree program with school library certification. If you know of an educator or non-certified librarian seeking school library certification, please pass along the news that we are still accepting applications for the spring 2012 semester.

The Master of Education program, ideally suited for working educators
with no time to drive to a university, offers a convenient and effective path to school library certification. For detailed information and contacts please refer to the Fulfilling the Promise homepage, at http://libweb.mansfield.edu/promise/, or contact Cynthia Keller, Department Chair ckeller@mansfield.edu
