Hi Sherry,

I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.

Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to you! I'm very happy for your successes and totally know what it's like to have the feeling of "It's over!" (I took Ed. Research this semester and "It's OVER!" :-) ) Just one more semester left and then I can officially say my Master's journey is complete. Congrats again and I'll be "seein' " ya on TLNing!

Welcome, Sherry! Hope your conference in Nebraska (?) went well, although I missed seeing you at AASL. Then I missed the Colorado conference. As a follow-up to our previous conversation (pre-TeacherLibrarianNing), I thought the reaction at AASL to the unveiling of the new learning standards was a mixed one at best. It will be interesting to follow the progress of the latest iteration. There have been so many 21st century initiatives in the past year or two that it's hard to know what to embrace, what to reject, and what to fit together with prior knowledge.
