This may be the first summer in a long time I can read just for fun. I thought it would be cool to plan our summer reading lists here. But let's really be selective. Choose one, just one, book in each category and share it here. Feel free to attach links to reviews or include delicious covers!

Best children's
Best YA
Best graphic novel/memoir, etc.
Best adult fiction
Best adult nonfiction
Best guilty pleasure(!)

Your words clearly state that, you strongly believe in yourself
and have complete knowledge on books.I have read a lot of articles on books, however the
way you have put it across was really intelligent .good work on Joyce.

Joyce, great idea!

Best children's - Eggs by Jerry Spinelli. Jerry writes with great sensitivity about a boy who loses his mother and lives with his grandmother.

Best YA - Copper Sun by Susan Draper. A girl's story of being taken from Africa to America to become a slave.

Best Adult fiction - Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. Everyone can find someone they know in each of the characters. A Baptist minister takes his wife and children to the Congo in the late fifties.

Best Adult Nonfiction - Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. Eat in Italy; Pray in India; Love in Indonesia.

Best Guilty Pleasure - Good in Bed by Susan Weiner. It's not about what you would think! The book is about a woman's struggle with body image (and a few other things).
I am impressed by the number of responses to this discussion. Great way to hear about books people enjoy. I was definitely effected by how different everyones opinions are. Makes me concerned about meeting all my library patrons reading needs.
It was hard to decide, but here are my 3 best YA books of the year. I liked them so much, I have asked for enough books to do lit circles in my school:

Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer (Amazon review)

Unwind by Neal Shusterman (review)

Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney (review)

Best guilty pleasure....well, I will admit it here. I enjoy vampire/supernatural books
