In an ongoing effort to recruit a new generation of school library leaders, Mansfield University recently received a fifth Institute of Library and Museum Services (IMLS) grant to fund scholarships for its totally online School Library & Information Technologies Master of Education degree program with school library certification. If you know of an educator or non-certified librarian seeking school library certification, please pass along the news that we are still accepting applications for the spring 2012 semester.
The Master of Education program, ideally suited for working educators
with no time to drive to a university, offers a convenient and effective path to school library certification. For detailed information and contacts please refer to the Fulfilling the Promise homepage, at http://libweb.mansfield.edu/promise/, or contact Cynthia Keller, Department Chair ckeller@mansfield.edu

Does your district block Ning?
My district blocks Nings except on the teachers profiles (so if I log into a student machine I can't get it)
um, I know I took pictures of the AP Bio pill bug girls, and think I wrote in another Ning about it. (I'll look for it)
Bud talked about me presenting live to our district librarians. Sorry, no video.
However- I'm thinking about doing a video post of our Sock Puppet poetry slam Thursday. I'll keep you posted.
Keep asking questions!
We are completely blocked from Ning at work even with our teacher profiles. :-( I hope that will change soon...it wasn't blocked at first, and then suddenly, it was. Arrrgh!
Is Bud in your school district?
I'm sorry I did not get to watch the Sock Puppet Poetry Slam live today b/c we had a class come to the library at the last minute (had to grab that teachable moment!), but I *LOVE* the idea! You are so inspiring!!!!
How many students are in your school? Does Colorado require a certified media specialist in each school? Thankfully, they do here in Georgia, but it makes me nervous to see other states cutting budgets and slashing library staff!
Thank you for inspiring me! :-)

I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.
Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

I have been following your blog and I love it.
I am currently working on a new library media center for a boy's high school. I noticed that you use Destiny as your automated catalog. Did you look at Alexandria or TLC? If so how do you think they compare?
Thanks,Erica
Thanks Again,
Erica
