I love your book reviews posted here! I am going to try to do the same thanks to viewing these! I also would like to hear more about how you animate these characters?
Thanks!

Doug, I'm still interested in learning more about your animating characters technique. Are you interested in giving a few tips to a amateur? I will be in Dallas June 27 - July 24.

Doug, looks like I wasn't clear and when I reread my message to you I can see why. I wasn't suggesting that you start doing anything differently. If you've got the tools and skills to produce such professional looking reviews, why change it to something more amateurish. I was actually thinking there is probably more than just me who is wanting to find some simple and free directions to create something similar. Certainly nothing as sophisticated as you have. But for kids who don't have yours to compare with, I bet they could get really excited over something crudely similar. I did start a discussion on this topic on the Book Video Ning. I plan on working on it some more when I get a little more time. Thanks for such a great idea!

Doug, thanks for the information. I had been experimenting after I saw what you had done. Instead of Crazy Talk, I've used Blabbercize. It's free but it does do less than Crazy Talk. Perhaps we could do more discussion of How To Create This Kind of Book Reviews on the Book Video Ning.

I love those READ posters. I don't think I am that talented in photo shop, but my husband is. Maybe he will do it for me.

Thanks again for the info. It was very helpful. I believe that I will purchase the Crazy Talk Pro after trying the basic version this morning and hearing back from you. I do have a few more questions: First, Do you know if I have windows for Mac if the Crazy Talk would work on the Mac, Second, Do you record the voices on the crazy talk software or type it in and the character mechnically talks what has been typed, Third, Does the Crazy Talk Pro save into a quicktime movie format, and Fourth, Does the Vegas Software accept quicktime movies for editing. I don't mind a PC and actually I prefer them but my district has a Mac preference. Mid-Del School District is North of Norman and a suburb of OKC. I'm not an OU grad but attend meetings there such as Festival of Books, Computer related workshops, and Nat'l Brd meetings as a mentor. Norman is a nice town but I understand you have go where the best opportunity is. Actually, I'm going to be in Dallas to assess for NBPTS with Pearson on Central Expressway in July. Would you be interested in giving a short seminar on your Movie Making around that time. I'll pay for your services. Thanks KSK

Thanks for the info on making the video book review. I have similar questions that are listed already. Such as, which version of Crazy Talk do you use, do you use mac or pc, and which movie editor version of Vegas would work best for a beginner?

Thanks for the info. Not sure if I am techy enough to do it. I have checked out your kids books reviews and I love that they are anoymous.

Is the standard version of Crazy Talk enough to make the book reviews or do you have the "Pro" edition?

Glogster!

Most of you have probably heard of Glogster but if you haven't, I suggest you try it out! The .edu.glogster site is now private and is an amazing tool for student work. This year our school theme is Star Trek and I created a Star Trek themed Glog web for our school. It will continue to grow as the year progresses but if you would like to see it go to:
http://mckilloplibrary.edu.glogster.com/McKillop-Home/
I will be posting more book reviews there as we get into the school year.

HELP A TEACHER GET SOME TECHNOLOGY

My wife and I produced a video for the Interwrite Learning contest and lo and behold we are in the finals! This is a $15,000 contest to get her some badly needed technology for her classroom. Problem is we are in the public voting stage of the competition and up against much larger districts with a lot of voting power. If you have liked my videos I ask that you go register and vote for her video. I admit that I am biased in this case, but I know how much she needs this equipment and her video
