A community for teacher-librarians and other educators

I am doing a session at our annual principal's conference in mid June. I want to introduce Blogs, Podcasts, and tracking them through aggregators. What other web 2.0 apps do you all think I should showcase? Keep in mind I only have an hour, so it has to be light but high interest!

Wow- in a hour you are going to introduce Blogs and Podcasts to educators? That is a tall order. By the time you get to aggregators their eyes should be sufficiently glazed over! I did a 3 hour session at a tech conference last summer and it was hard! I'll be you can do it!
I've done one dry run through with a group of teachers at a staff development . Feedback from them consisted of comments like they need more information and will probably research on their own. My goal was to pique interest, so I think I succeeded. Only time will tell. I do realize its a BUNCH to cover. Again, my goal for this group is to do brief show-n-tells. Do you have helpful suggestions on specific blogs or podcasts I should showcase?
Willow Radio is a great little site. http://www.mpsomaha.org/willow/radio/
I think Wiki's would be a great thing to show them as a collaborative note taking tool or for collaborative student projects. Just my two cents!
Can you direct me to one that is good?
I would suggest showing them social bookmarking sites such as del.icio.us you can use mine as an example del.icio.us/deborah.stafford

I have shown this to some teachers at my building and several now have their own.

I would also show them Librarything http://www.librarything.com/

Last, I would give them this web site where they can explore all inds of web 2.0 stuff http://www.shambles.net/web2/index.htm
I would show them the Leader Talk Blog
http://www.leadertalk.org/
It's a group blog written by school leaders for school leaders (principals and superintendents). They talk about everything from School 2.0 to campus safety, to how they deal with stress.
Hi Cathy,
I have a wiki and a PowerPoint set up for 2.0 presentations. Perhaps some of those resources, especially the videos, may help.

what awesome links and great ideas. Thanks group!
I'm doing a similar presentation at our state administrator's conference!

I was planning to show LeaderTalk, and how blogs in general could be used to communicate with parents or within the school, and also show how wiki sites like pbwiki can be used to create collaborative documents. I'll be interested in following up on the ideas here as well.

One tool I wanted to share with the administrators is Jott. I can see where it would be very useful.
